Blue Flag Survey for Beach and Marina Users

The objective of the survey was to measure the satisfaction of the beach and marina managers with the Blue Flag and to identify the strengths and the weaknesses of the programme from their perspective. It was conducted between 30th March and 2nd May 2011 (33 days in total), via the web-based survey platform “Survey Monkey”.

Blue Flag Survey for Beach and Marina Users

The objective of the survey was to measure the satisfaction of the beach and marina managers with the Blue Flag and to identify the strengths and the weaknesses of the programme from their perspective. It was conducted between 30th March and 2nd May 2011 (33 days in total), via the web-based survey platform “Survey Monkey”.

A manager often manages more than one Blue Flag beach or marina, but counts as one answer in our results, since we surveyed the managers, and not the sites.

According to the survey;

“95% of all respondents would recommend the Blue Flag programme to other beach or marina managers”

Turkey Foundation for Environmental Education (TÜRÇEV)

Blue Flag

The Blue Flag works towards sustainable development of beaches, marinas and yachts through strict criteria dealing with Water Quality, Environmental Education and Information, Environmental Management, and Safety and Other Services.
The Blue Flag Programme is owned and run by the non-government, non-profit organisation the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).

Green Key

Green Key is a voluntary eco-label for tourism facilities that promotes sustainable tourism and aims to contribute to the prevention of climate change by awarding and advocating facilities with positive environmental initiatives. Green Key began in Denmark in 1994 and was adopted by FEE in 2002 to become its fifth international Programme. It has since spread to more than 40 countries and continues to grow in numbers and spread across the world.

Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) is a network of passionate young people educating for sustainable development by producing, engaging, creative, environmental journalism. Coordinated by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), YRE is in more than 25 countries worldwideand growing!
Participants, aged 11-21, investigate environmental issues and problems and report on them through written, photographic or video journalism, wherever possible proposing solutions.
