The second round of activities in specific areas of our European Environment Agency MLW (Marine Litter Watch) Marine Litter Watch study has continued. The second activity of the second round was held in the Kumköy Çardaklar region (locally known as Çardak Resort) in cooperation with Aksu Municipality and KUYAB (Kundu Tourism Investors Association). Aksu Municipality Environmental Engineer and KUYAB Local Blue Flag Officer and TÜRÇEV Antalya Branch officials actively participated in the event, which attracted our attention the most by household items and cardboard (supposedly) cups! Although 2 months later, 230 pieces of waste consisting of 22 kg were collected! 130 of them are plastic, and we found mattress pads, seat parts, oil cans, lighters and disposable plastics, and plenty of grocery bags. All were plotted and recorded on European Environment Agency marine litter maps. We hope we find less waste on our 3rd round trip. We are waiting for the news of those who want to join us in our efforts to protect the environment and leave a clean world to future generations!

Turkey Foundation for Environmental Education (TÜRÇEV)

Turkey Foundation for Environmental Education (TÜRÇEV) was established with the aim of launching Blue Flag Program for our country, under the leadership of the Ministry of Tourism in 1993. Blue Flag

The Blue Flag works towards sustainable development of beaches, marinas and yachts through strict criteria dealing with Water Quality, Environmental Education and Information, Environmental Management, and Safety and Other Services.
The Blue Flag Programme is owned and run by the non-government, non-profit organisation the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).

Green Key

Green Key is a voluntary eco-label for tourism facilities that promotes sustainable tourism and aims to contribute to the prevention of climate change by awarding and advocating facilities with positive environmental initiatives. Green Key began in Denmark in 1994 and was adopted by FEE in 2002 to become its fifth international Programme. It has since spread to more than 40 countries and continues to grow in numbers and spread across the world.

Young Reporters for the Environment

Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) is a network of passionate young people educating for sustainable development by producing, engaging, creative, environmental journalism. Coordinated by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), YRE is in more than 25 countries worldwideand growing!
Participants, aged 11-21, investigate environmental issues and problems and report on them through written, photographic or video journalism, wherever possible proposing solutions.
