Protect Your Beach Project is run by volunteers, supporters and TÜRÇEV officials. Every year, it is carried out on different beaches during different periods. It includes various activities and aims to prevent beach and sea pollution, draw attention to pollution and emphasize that it is caused by beach visitors.
During the project, an information booth is placed at a visible part of the beach and provides information to domestic/foreign tourists and local people. Cleanliness of the beach is measured at different hours of the day.
Project supervisors conduct surveys among beach visitors, check their knowledge in this regard, provide information by handing-out brochures and making one-to-one conversations, thus raise awareness.
In addition to these, during the project a different activity is carried out every day to draw attention to environmental issues.
